looking for wood to use as shelving, my mate got some old bedroom furniture which are 2 wardrobes (1 slightly bigger) and a dressing table. They have signs of wear and tear, scratches etc and I'm not antique expert but they've got to be a few years old, from 50's possibly?

he was just going to get demolish them and but I thought they looked areet and also reckoned they were worth summit to a restorer/antique dealer/hobbyist so stopped him

a wardrobe has a label on the inside of one of the doors and it's CAMPHOR so I did a search on ebay and saw these. The wardrobe has a similar layout inside with labels for Shirts, Pyjamas and Underwear

Camphor wardrobe - £62

Camphor dressing table - £80

so haway then SMB, where should I go or who can I contact as they've got to worth a few quid to someone. Regardless of them having any value, I also think it's a shame to see old stuff like this get demolished because my mate isn't bothered but I like old stuff and I'm sure someone else will too and possibly restore it and use it or sell it on for more

Ignore this ^ plenty people like alternative decor - I'd list them on eBay / Gumtree and say pickup only

Take it to your local auction rooms and put it in a general sale. They will charge a fee but takes all the hassle out of getting rid of it.

No one wants "brown furniture" anymore marra. You may be able to get someone to take em off your hands at one of those theme park/museum type villages like Beamish or Ryhope.

I wish , after looking about since posting, I'd be hoping to possibly get around £100 to be honest but couldn't be arsed with ebay

I would if you didn't get hassled like fuck, though Gumtree isn't as bad. I'd prefer for someone like Skrabble suggested as someone else told me about Peter Smith earlier so might give them a bell next week

not sure if they are auction standard plus is it worth it if they are only worth £100 or so? but will bear it in mind
